Slightly fewer than 625,000 new Direct Debits were taken out to charities through F2F fundraising in 2009/10, end of year figures from the PFRA reveal.
There were 447,286 donors recruited by doorstep F2F while 177,665 came through street fundraising.
This represents a 15.62 per cent fall from the 741,000 new regular donations secured in 2008/09.
However, as Mick Aldridge, the PFRA’s ceo says, the fall in street volumes can be attributed in large part to the collapse of one of the largest fundraising agencies, Dialogue Direct UK, in October 2009.
The trend for volumes of doorstep fundraising to increase relative to street F2F continues, with doorstep F2F now account for about 70 per cent of all donors recruited through this fundraising method.
