PFRA ceo Mick Aldridge voted ‘most influential person in fundraising’

08/06/10

Mick Aldridge, PFRA’s chief executive, has been voted the ‘most influential person in fundraising’ by readers of Fundraising magazine.

Mick has been in the top 10 of Fundraising’s annual poll since he became ceo in April 2006 and moves up from last year’s number 4 spot. And there are five other people associated with the PFRA in the top 50 too.

“It’s a great honour and quite humbling to be voted to top by your peers,” Mick says.  “But as they say at the OSCARS, this is not just recognition for me, it’s recognition for everyone involved in face-to-face fundraising.

“Because F2F is the most visible form of fundraising, quite literally, PFRA has to be equally vocal and visible. I’m sure that’s the reason that PFRA is represented so much in the most influential list – because we are always out there discussing, promoting and defending face-to-face fundraising.

The other PFRA people in Fundraising’s top 50 are:

  • Milly Ahmed, direct of Gift fundraising and PFRA board member – number 4
  • Richard Verden, head of individual giving at the British Red Cross and board member - 19
  • Michael Naidu, assistant director of fundraising at Mencap and vice chair – 20
  • Morag Fleming, head of fundraising at Quarriers, board member and co-founder of the Donor Attrition and Retention Survey – 31
  • Ian MacQuillin, head of communications – 47
