PFRA is looking for a new compliance officer who will be able to assist us with enforcing professional standards of street and door fundraisers throughout Great Britain.
The compliance officer will monitor professional behaviour of street and door fundraisers in the field, as well has helping to maintain PFRA’s complaints handling process. Although predominantly London-based, the role requires frequent travel around the country and out of office hours working.
Anyone interested in applying should follow the link to the job advert.
Our current compliance officer, Marcus Letts, is leaving to devote more time to a new social enterprise called Break the Cycle, for which he has already been volunteering evenings and weekends.
Nick Henry, PFRA’s head of standards, says: “This is a vitally important role that supplements our existing mystery shopping procedures and extends our ability to improve best practice standards to towns and cities we’ve not been able to reach before.
“Although Marcus was only in post a short time, he has been a credit to us since starting here and his enthusiasm and initiative have been invaluable during a time of change. However, he’s off on another adventure and we wish him the very best of luck.”
Break the cylce aims to inspire young people to live sustainably through ‘slow travel’ and carbon-free adventures. Its ambition is to organise regular cycle tours within the UK and Europe as an alternative to an unsustainable culture of cheap flights and ‘gap years.’
