PFRA is enhancing its professional standards function with the recruitment of a new staff member, whose job will include regular patrols to check that street fundraisers are complying with the code of practice.
The new quality and compliance assistant will work with PFRA’s head of standards Nick Henry. As well as regular street patrols in London, the new staff member will also travel around the country, extending PFRA’s standards monitoring to towns and cities where we have not yet been able to provide it.
Mark Carter-Nesbitt, md of fundraising agency Urban Leaf and a member of PFRA’s personnel sub-committee, says: “Since Nick Henry was appointed as head of standards last April, PFRA has already doubled the number of mystery shops carried out each month.
“The appointment of a quality and compliance assistant is a natural progression in our expanding professional standards role and will add significant value to the excellent work Nick is already doing in providing PFRA members, gatekeepers and the general public with a robust resource for monitoring and improving standards across the spectrum of face-to-face activity.”
