Three charities have joined the PFRA – Childreach International, Sustrans and Framework Housing Association.
Childreach International – an international development children’s charity that works in partnership with local communities to promote healthcare, education and child rights – will use volunteers to carry out prospect F2F in London. The charity aims to recruit supporters for its many activities, including challenge events, the Global Schools Initiative education programme and the carbon offset scheme Carbon Plus.
Homelessness charity Framework will be running street fundraising campaigns with its own in-house team in Nottinghamshire – the charity’s home county – with potential future extension across the East Midlands and into some parts of South Yorkshire to reflect its new homelessness services established in these areas.
“As a local charity we have a small fundraising budget and a strong reputation but a relatively small supporter base,” says Louise Darby, Framework’s Fundraising Manager. “We think this is the right time and place to be embarking on this type of fundraising."
Louise Darby adds that her charity was “inspired to start F2F by the experiences of some of our homelessness charity counterparts in other parts of the country who have really made F2F work for them”.
Sustrans – the sustainable transport charity – has carried out F2F for some time on its own cycle tracks but is now planning to conduct street fundraising in London with an in-house operation.
